Kluane Wilderness Lodge fishing report #4

It’s hard to believe that summer is half over already although it’s not getting dark here yet but it won’t be long now. Our summer has been better than most to the south and no forest fire in the area which makes for a summer of no smoke. Some of the birds like the robins and swallows have already gone south and yesterday we could see fresh snow on the Sainte Elias Range. It’s too early for that!

For us at the lodge spring is here the ice is gone with no damage to the docks. It has been neat to be here and experience spring in the north and how fast it comes. Most of the big flocks of birds have gone past with still a few stragglers coming by.

Kluane Wilderness Lodge #2

Spring is here at Kluane Lodge with all the song birds showing up, thousands of swans have flown over along with ducks and geese. Hard to believe that on April 30th it was -10 C. with blowing snow and wind gusts to 20mph and here we are May 4 and the lake is starting to thaw out with the ice about 10 feet from shore.
