About Us

MAIN LODGE

Our main lodge consists of a dining room, lounge area, tack shop, full bar, and pool table.  For your added pleasure we have one the most remote hot tubs in the Yukon.  Home cooked meals are served family style in the dining room and the kitchen is always open for delicious snacks.  Our shore lunches are a favourite with our guests.  After dinner you may want to enjoy the large deck or head back out on the lake for an evening of fishing in the unlimited daylight and there is always a campfire later in the evening where your can swap fishing tales with other guests.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Our lakeshore duplex style cabins (two guests per unit) are fully equipped with twin beds, private washrooms and shower facilities.  Wood stoves are in each cabin.

BOATS

For some of the greatest fishing experiences of your life, we provide 14 foot commercial Lund boats with 15 hp 4 stroke electric start outboard motors.  Each boat is equipped with VHF radios, fish finders and padded swivel seats.  The lodge is also equipped with a VHF radio so that you may call in during your fishing day.

FISHING GEAR

If you are bringing your own gear we recommend:

    Casting:

• Medium actions rods with 15 lb. test line with steel leaders for both the trout and northern pike.    Spoons of various colours work well with the favourite being the yellow five of diamonds.  We also use salt water jigs in various colours.

    Fly fishing:

• Nothing less that a 7 weight rod and preferably an 8 weight rod.  We recommend three types of line, floating, sink tip and full sink line.  With the aquatic life at Wellesley Lake, anything you are familiar with using will work here as well.  We have caught northern pike with chironomids.

• We have incredible fly fishing for all three species (lake trout, Northern Pike and lake whitefish) in the spring and fall seasons.
